Budget scarcity is considered one of the most important challenges that face academic libraries especially that IFLA has identified it, in its annual meeting in 2018, as the first challenge for libraries worldwide, hence libraries had to find and apply methods to face such deficiency and at the same time keep the quality level of services and staff. This study suggests some solutions to develop the professional capabilities of library staff economically as part of saving in budgets. It also identifies the staff needs to feel stable at work and the way to invest in them as they are considered one of the main assets of the Library. The study also shows the importance of sustaining staff and how it could save a lot of money that could be drained if he/ she decides to leave after the experiences gained. The researcher suggests some websites and programs that provide free courses for librarians in cataloging, collection development, research data management, references, and public services. It is also important to note that developing staff professionally requires self-motivation and constant search for what could develop them
