Abstract

This research deals with the definition of academic accreditation as an optional process that is carried out on a self-initiated initiative by the college, university, or scientific department, to evaluate its performance by government agencies that enable them to achieve high levels of performance. The United States of America, the United Kingdom, France and South Korea in applying academic accreditation, and the State of Kuwait as a model for an Arab country. The research also dealt with a presentation of the Egyptian standards that are applied for university institutions to obtain academic accreditation.He also presented in some detail the projects through which the Egyptian state seeks to develop higher education as a locomotive for development, then he turned to one of these projects, which is the "Quality Assurance and Accreditation Project" (QAAP) in terms of the vision and mission of the project and the goals it seeks to achieve. Then the research dealt with some detail The National Authority for Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Egypt. This research relied on the field survey method to identify the reality of the practice of academic accreditation on the Arab and international levels.
