The library and information profession in Arabic and foreign literature: a scientific review

Abstract

The library profession is one of the oldest professions dating back to the Babylonian and Assyrian era, and studies, excavations and fossils have proven. Libraries contained various collections of ancient science written on clay figures, tablets, papyri and manuscripts. These developments will develop and evolve in the future.
On the other hand, the presentation of the intellectual production literature represents a large area in the formation of a variety of activities that have been studied, and it also works to measure the inventory and intellectual production related to the subject. 123 items from January 2000 to July 2022 in the form of journal articles, conference works, and university theses, . The study found most studies that focused on the competencies, skills and professional roles of library and information specialists, and there is a severe lack of studies that focus on leadership competencies for the profession of libraries and information on the drawing of this type of studies.
