and those from outside it and is based on the maximum benefit from the available information in the library, and the thresholds experiences which are dwelling in minds of its employees. One of the most important features of applying this concept is the optimal investment of mind capital and transforming it into a productive power to contribute to the employee’s performance improvement and raising the efficiency of the library.This study aimed to address what is meant by the concept of knowledge management and the extent of applying knowledge management processes, and the constraints of applying these processes at the university libraries at Khartoum State.The study arrived at a number of results: the sample attitude towards the awareness of the concept of knowledge management is characterized by positivity, such that 56.2% of the sample members were aware of the concept, and the majority of the respondents’ opinions about the application of knowledge management processes are characterized by positivity. The respondents assured that the constraints that hinder the optimal application of knowledge management processes are the lacking of relevant training in knowledge management, the insufficient familiarity with knowledge management concept, and the unavailability of supporting organizational communication for knowledge management processes in the library.The study recommended the necessity for spreading awareness of the importance of indoctrinating knowledge management concept, identifying experience thresholds in university libraries and working towards authenticating them by employees who possess a high level of experience .
