Abstract

The study dealt with identifying the concept of the infographic as one of the most important modern technological applications for information, that's based on the process of converting rigid and textual data and information into static or animated images that include some visual stimuli such as graphics and images that illustrate information, as the community has become interested in the visual content and interacts with it as a result of the simplification and organization of information by the infographic, In addition, infographics no longer fill an aesthetic function only, but have become an important tool in information literacy in the field of libraries and information, as well as a marketing tool, Infographics are also one of the mechanisms and tools that help improve the educational process. The study highlighted the importance of infographics, their different types, and forms, and adopted a descriptive-analytical approach. The study explained the important differences between similar terms with infographics such as mind maps and provided a comprehensive overview of the history of infographics, their development, and widespread use. The study presented the most important features of Infographic as well as their disadvantages, in addition to how to employ infographics and their uses, such as the use of infographics in the field of libraries and information, offering instructions for structuring and designing infographics and providing a guide to software and websites that help in creating and designing infographics.
