Artificial intelligence Applications in Children's libraries:A literature review

Abstract

Information specialists in children's libraries face a great challenge in this world in which technological developments are growing rapidly, which is reflected in the provided services by libraries , such as modern technologies and their various applications, especially artificial intelligence techniques, its added new dimensions to the method of providing service in children's libraries. In this context, the study seeks to survey and collect the intellectual production issued in both Arabic and English on the subject of artificial intelligence applications in children's libraries, in general, and what is related to supporting the role of information specialists in children's libraries in particular, with the aim of identifying the characteristics of intellectual production on the subject of the study and analyzing its characteristics. Objective and qualitative, depending on the descriptive approach by survey Method. The Researcher collected 69 items covering the period from 2012 to 2022 in Different forms like articles, conference works and scientific theses. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which is the lack of Arab studies that discuss employing artificial intelligence techniques in children's libraries, as most studies were discussed the uses of artificial intelligence in libraries in general, in library operations such as indexing, classification and indexing, or in providing services, such as translation, and reference service, while The Arabic studies in using of artificial intelligence techniques in children's libraries are still very limited.
