Abstract

The aim of preparing this list is to analyze the intellectual contributions, both Arab and foreign, in the field of future studies in libraries and information. It seeks to outline and identify the transformations and changes that may occur in the near and distant future in the library and information sector, which is one of the most important sectors that promote economic and social development in various communities. The list covers topics related to future studies as a modern field of knowledge and how it can be applied in libraries. It also examines the methods of future studies, while exploring the future of the library profession in the era of information and communication technology.
The list is based on the Arab and foreign intellectual production that addresses future studies in the field of libraries and information, employing a descriptive approach. It includes 23 studies published between 1994 and 2023. Various forms of information sources were utilized, including dissertations and articles from scientific journals. Additionally, the list relied on both Arabic and English languages.
