Planning to establish an Egyptian portal for open cultural data in light of the sustainable development goals

Abstract

The study aimed to attempt to develop a proposal for an Egyptian portal for open cultural data, starting with the justifications for designing a portal for open cultural data, in addition to clarifying its legislative framework for open cultural data, as well as the objectives of the proposed platform for open cultural data, mentioning the boundaries and scope of the portal, and reviewing the most prominent challenges facing its design. In addition to developing a proposed plan for the open cultural data platform, which took place in eight main stages: feasibility study and planning for the portal, defining the goals and scope of the portal, analysis and technical preparation, choosing software and equipment, designing databases, digitization and digital conversion, quality control, experimentation and availability, The researcher also developed a set of technical specifications for the portal, which she divided into specifications for the nature of digital content in the portal, specifications for content organization and level of coverage in the portal, technical and technical specifications for the portal, specifications for the quality of services provided, specifications for the quality of communication and interactivity of the portal. The study concluded by mentioning the proposed components of the portal, With some illustrations of its working mechanisms, the study recommended the necessity of the Ministry of Culture’s agencies undertaking community awareness of the importance of using open data portals, and highlighting their pivotal roles in bringing about comprehensive development
