The study aimed to identify the role of medical records management in activating knowledge management applications in private hospitals . The study used the descriptive survey method. The study population consisted of all employees of United Doctors Hospital and Al-Jadaani Hospital in Jeddah; the questionnaire was used as a tool for the study. The questionnaire was distributed to a simple random sample of (231) members. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which were: The study sample strongly agreed on the most prominent practices of medical records management in private hospitals , with a mean of (4.30 out of 5), the study sample agreed on the requirements for the success of medical records management in activating Knowledge management applications in private hospitals in the Kingdom of with a mean of (4.18), the study sample strongly agreed on the impact of medical records management in activating knowledge management applications in private hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a mean of (4.21), and finally the study sample agreed on the obstacles that hinder the management of medical records in private hospitals in Saudi Arabia from applying knowledge management with a mean of (3.71).
