Abstract

The study dealt with identifying the concept of enterprise resource planning (ERP), as it is a vital and essential element in the structure and development of any institution. It contributes significantly to the organization and coordination of various departments of the organization, which enhances work efficiency and effectiveness, especially in the context of the growing interest with digital transformation. ERP provides a comprehensive, integrated view of all aspects of a business, from human resources management to operations, sales, purchasing and financial management. Thanks to this comprehensive approach, the organization can make informed strategic decisions based on accurate and up-to-date data, which contributes to achieving organizational goals more efficiently and more effectively. In addition, ERP applications can improve communication and coordination between various departments within the organization. ERP also contributes to enhancing the organization’s competitiveness in the market by improving the quality of services, increasing customer satisfaction, and achieving optimal costs of resources. Therefore, the study addressed the importance of enterprise resource planning, its types, and its historical development. The challenges facing the software during implementation and the basic requirements for the success of the software. The study relied on the descriptive and analytical approach. The study also clarified the job titles related to the field of enterprise resource planning and other concepts related to the concept of enterprise resource planning were reviewed.
