The study provides a scientific presentation of the literature on intellectual production specialized in the field of non-formal education for children and the role of public libraries in it, with the aim of monitoring and surveying the Arab and foreign intellectual production issued on the subject of the study. The focus was largely on foreign intellectual production, along with some Arab studies in the field. The study begins with the stages of preparing the scientific review of intellectual production, passing through the controls that were adopted to exclude some studies from it, and the study ended with a set of results. The most important of which is the superiority of foreign intellectual production over its Arab counterpart specialized in the field of study. The study addressed the literature in the field regarding the difference between formal and non-formal education, the role of libraries in them and ways to integrate them, models of some of the different topics for which non-formal education programs are designed, as well as non-formal education systems directed to specific groups. As well as the use of this type of education to confront some societal crises such as epidemics or emergency social phenomena, the review also addressed studies on non-formal education in Egypt and the world, the role of libraries and its various information services and sources, and finally digital non-formal education.
