Community Involvement and Community Service with Quality and Accreditation Standards for Library and Information Programs: An Analytical and Descriptive Study

Abstract

The study aims to monitor and analyze the community Involvement standard in the accreditation standards for library and information programs in the Arab Republic of Egypt, some Arab countries, and international and regional standards that include a community Involvement standard. The study addressed the accreditation standards in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya,, Yemen, Mentioning the accreditation standards of institutions only in countries that have issued accreditation standards for institutions and have not yet issued accreditation standards for programs, such as Algeria, Qatar, and Iraq. ,the standard prepared by Professor Dr. Usama Al-Sayed Mahmoud and issued& Printed by the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information "AFLI", and the standard of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).The State of Palestine was excluded because it did not include the community Involvement or community and environmental service criterion - which is the basis of the current study. The States of Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman were also excluded because they obtained accreditation and quality from the Professional Institute for Library and Information Specialists, .The study Depends on the descriptive analytical method to describe and analyze the community Involvement and environmental service standard, and the comparative method to compare the standards.
