Abstract

The current study aimed to explore the reality of strengthening national identity across two key dimensions: (1) promoting the values of loyalty and belonging, and (2) promoting the concept of citizenship, among secondary school female teachers in Riyadh. The study employed a survey descriptive research method, with a simple random sample selected to represent the research community, based on the sample size parameters outlined in Morgan's table (204 female teachers). A questionnaire was used as the primary data collection tool. The study yielded the following results:
- The dimension of promoting the values of loyalty and belonging achieved a very high average score of 4.35, indicating the success of the school administration in fostering these values among female teachers. Meanwhile, the dimension of enhancing the concept of citizenship achieved an even higher average score of 4.42, reflecting the school administration's strong commitment to instilling the values of citizenship.
- The overall requirements for strengthening national identity received a very high average score of 4.52, indicating the strong awareness of both the school administration and teachers regarding the importance of this issue. The item "Developing Feelings of Pride in National Achievements" ranked highest with a score of 4.71, highlighting the significance of promoting national pride as a core component of national identity. The item "Use of Classical Arabic" ranked lowest, with a score of 4.00, suggesting the need for further emphasis on linguistic identity as part of the broader national identity.
