The Role of Knowledge Management in Establishing & Developing Governmental Institutions: literature review

Abstract

As a result of the information and communication technology revolution that the world is witnessing, many governmental and private institutions and companies have been keen to develop and improve management methods and techniques and apply knowledge management as a contribution to developing and improving individual and institutional performance and increasing their creativity and innovation. In this context, the study seeks to survey and collect the intellectual production issued in both Arabic and English on the subject of the role of knowledge management in establishing and developing governmental institutions covering the period from 2014 to 2023, with the aim of reaching quantitative and objective indicators of the bibliographic characteristics of the published intellectual production, depending on the descriptive approach of the survey method. The Researcher collected 110 terms covering the time period of the study in Different forms like articles, scientific theses and books. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which was the clear progress in intellectual production in the Arabic language. Most of the studies were based on two subject categories: knowledge management in governmental institutions in general and knowledge management in governmental institutions in the education sector. Most of the studies monitored the experiences of various governmental institutions and bodies in applying knowledge management. 2022 was the year in which the largest number of studies were published on this topic, with 21 of the total studies.
